Microcosmos
Microcosms is an exploration of the interior of the residues and hidden details of my paintings. From a detailed photograph of the palette I work with, I magnify its dimensions into large scale acrylic paintings; a process that turns the micro into macro.
Despite control of the photograph, the creation of these paintings is random. Even with a methodical pictorial work, the result is unexpected.
Typically, they are abstract pieces that revolve around a central discourse of painting itself. These pieces suggest a tension between the forms of some images of the universe -like the supernova- and the visions of microscope images obtained through technological means.
